Question

In a group of 100 people,
  • 60 do not like Donald Trump and do not like Kim Jong Un, and
  • 25 like Kim Jong Un.
How many people in this group like Donald Trump and do not like Kim Jong Un?
(a)
10
(b)
15
(c)
25
(d)
20

Solution

A = Like Donald Trump

B = Like Kim Jong Un

$ |\overline{A \cap B}| = 60 $

$ |B| = 25 $

$ |A \cap B| = |S| - |\overline{A \cap B}| - |B| $

$ |A \cap B| = 100 - 60 - 25 $

$ |A \cap B| = 15 $
